The Learning & Development (L&D) Manager is responsible for leading all employee training and development efforts for KSM and its affiliate companies. The individual in this position works closely with the Director, Human Resources, and functional/affiliate leadership to focus on creating, developing, implementing and measuring solutions which build skills and competencies across the entire employee life cycle to meet the Firm's present and future talent capability requirements.

 

Duties:   
  • Ensures alignment of company-wide learning and development initiatives to KSM's business strategy and culture.
  • Facilitates KSM University (KSMU) committee aimed at identifying learning and development gaps and establishing focus for training to fill gaps.
  • Conducts ongoing development needs analysis on an organization-wide level and with individual departments/functions.
  • Develops annual KSM-wide training plan based on KSMU committee input and needs analysis.
  • Researches, identifies and selects appropriate parties to deliver training.
  • Heavily involved in the design and in some cases delivery of individual professional development classes.
  • Instrumental in the development of a longer-term leadership curriculum to support the growth and development of our professional and administrative staff.
  • Oversight for training rooms including scheduling, equipment, technology needs, etc.
  • Establishes key metrics to track and communicate to help us measure the success of our development programs.
  • Builds and maintains an effective evaluation process for all training
  • Ensures the right mix of technical training, both internally and externally, for CPA's to maintain this license.
  • Working closely with the Director, Human Resources, establishes and maintains an employee retention plan that evolves with the Firm.  
  • Directs the Firm's performance management process including evaluations, performance ratings and performance criteria.
  • Working closely with the Executive Assistants, responsible for supervising all aspects of certification requirements for the professionals.
  • Manages the KSM learning management system (LMS) and makes appropriate recommendations for improvements to this system.
  • Communicates training and development opportunities via appropriate forum.
  • Responsible for new hire orientation and intern/new hire training plan
  • Stay current in industry and field to bring new perspectives, approaches and resources to KSM to help us maintain competitive edge in the area of employee development.
  • Develop and manage annual L&D budget.
Qualifications:

 

    

  • Bachelors degree in related field.
  • PHR, SPHR preferred.
  • 8-10 years of progressive HR experience; 5-8 years in a learning and development capacity.
  • Demonstrates excellent business acumen.
  • Experience assessing organization L&D needs and developing requisite solutions.
  • Experience in the design and delivery of training classes and curriculums.
  • Experience communicating and influencing at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent group facilitation, consultation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proves ability to persuade and influence decision makers.
  •  Prior experience managing budgets.
